FAQs

'Ad Meliora' - Towards greater things

London Neurology Clinic
  • Do I need a referral?
Our services are offered to anyone with or without referral from the UK and from overseas.
  • What happens during the initial consultation?
During the initial consultation the consultant will review your neurological problems and suggest further diagnostic and therapeutic steps. These will be organised for you upon your agreement. Once we receive your results, we will contact you to arrange a follow up consultation.
  • What happens if I am late for my appointment?
We fully understand that sometimes being late is outside of your control. If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible by phone to allow us to advise you on the best course of action. We will always do our best to accommodate late arrivals (within 10 minutes after your appointment) by performing the most complete consultation possible in the time remaining. However, the appointment will finish at the set time for the booking as a courtesy to the next patient. Unfortunately, arriving 10 minutes after the scheduled time of your appointment will result in the cancellation of your consultation and our cancellation policy will apply.
  • What is London Neurology Clinic’s cancellation policy?
You can cancel or change the time of your consultation free of charge up to 48 hours before your consultation is due to begin. If you cancel or change your appointment less than 48 hours before the appointment start time, or you fail to attend the consultation, the full cost of the appointment will be incurred. Please call us to change or cancel your appointment as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend the appointment time.
  • When do I need to pay for my appointment and how?
Consultation fees must be paid at the time of booking an appointment. Additional charges apply for consultation requests outside of standard working hours (09:00 – 18:00). All consultations include private prescriptions, but you will be responsible for the cost of the medication and delivery charges, if applicable. When further tests or diagnostics are recommended at your initial consultation, such as an MRI, CT, ultrasound, EEG, EMG, blood tests, etc., we will provide you with full details about relevant fees and arranging referrals to other specialists for your assessment and treatment. All fees must be paid in advance to process the bookings. You can pay by a bank transfer, credit card or the payment link provided at the point of payment.
  • When will the doctor’s report be available?
The doctor's report will be available within 15 working days. An earlier turnaround can be arranged at an extra charge. If there are any further investigations/diagnostics, the clinical letter is usually prepared after the follow up consultation so it covers the results.
  • Will my report be shared with my GP?
We will never share any of your information without your consent. If you wish to share your report with your GP, we can do so with your consent.
  • Can I be accompanied to my appointment?
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible at your consultation. If you wish to have a relative or a friend with you, please do bring them along. If you require a chaperone service, please advise us when booking the appointment.
  • Am I able to visit the clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic?
London Neurology Clinic remains open for in-person appointments as well as virtual appointments. Your health and safety remain our highest priority, so please wear a face covering, maintain social distancing and use hand sanitiser regularly if attending an appointment at the clinic. Please call to rearrange your appointment if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. We will offer advice and professional support with your medical concerns and offer an alternative appointment time or a virtual appointment, if appropriate.
  • What are your governance and quality of care processes?
London Neurology Clinic is registered with the Care Quality Commission and our clinicians are members of the General Medical Council. We audit and check your care and will investigate and act on any complaints. All our staff have been trained in confidentiality and clinical governance and have undergone mandatory care training.
